Information We Collect
We collect a few different types of information:
- Usage data: Like most websites, we automatically collect basic analytics — pages visited, time on site, browser/device type, and referring links — through tools like Jetpack Stats and, once configured, Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Information you provide directly: If you sign up for our free Sprint Triathlon Gear Checklist or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address (and name, if you provide one). If you contact us directly, we collect whatever information you include in that message.
- Cookies: We use cookies for basic site functionality and analytics. Affiliate networks and retailers we link to (Amazon Associates, REI/AvantLink, ShareASale, and individual brand programs) also place their own tracking cookies when you click an affiliate link, so they can credit us if you make a purchase. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver anything you’ve requested, like the free gear checklist
- Send newsletter emails, if you’ve opted in — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time
- Understand which content is useful so we can improve the site
- Respond to questions or messages you send us
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Email Marketing
We use MailerLite to manage our email list and send newsletters. If you sign up, your email address is stored with MailerLite under their own security and privacy practices. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting us directly.
Affiliate Links
Many of the product links on this site are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase — at no extra cost to you. Third-Party Services
This site is hosted on Hostinger and built on WordPress.com/Jetpack. We may also use Google Search Console and Google Analytics to understand site traffic. These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data, and we encourage you to review them if you have concerns.
Children’s Privacy
Mile Marker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll remove it.
